5 Positive Choices Needed to Sustain a Healthy Life Balance
Do you consider your daily routine and the things you must do to keep yourself well-balanced and healthy? What I've observed as a mindset coach , is the average person gets caught up with life and the numerous responsibilities that are a part of it without thinking about whether there's an imbalance in one or the other. In most cases, it's not until an emergency situation like an illness or triggering event, when someone is able to stop and assess the state of their life. The conventional notion of balance is based on a work and life balance that includes balancing family, friends, hobbies, and whatever is essential to a person's work. But I've learned that finding balance to sustain a healthy life is much more significant, and it all begins with maintaining your mindset. If you imagine your mind being in balance, there would be a neutral state of mind, without excess negative or positive feelings. The mind, however, has thoughts running through it all the time of the day. That means that your mind can be either in a positive or negative state at any moment. Developing Your Point of Focus The way you focus your thoughts is important to the overall health and well-being that you have. When you think of possibilities of having negative and positive thoughts to choose from, you realize it's possible to build beneficial habits. How is that possible? If you think about things for long enough, it becomes the norm to do it regularly. The trick is becoming aware of the thoughts you're thinking about, and then deciding not to let the environment dictate the thoughts you think about instead, being at the helm and focusing on the thoughts that can make you feel good or uplifted when you are in need. The most interesting aspect of the formation of a thought pattern is that, once it's affirmed over time, or contemplated on a consistent basis, it becomes a belief. This is the reason it can be challenging to change the thinking of someone who has formed a negative pattern of thoughts about themselves for a long period of time, and why their lives are likely to be imbalanced, this negative mindset has become a reality. It's not as simple as thinking a couple of positive thoughts to make changes rather, it requires continuous (and reinforced) patterns of beliefs that have been established based upon new-found ways of thinking in a positive manner. This goal can be achieved by only one positive thought at a time. 5 Positive Choices Needed to Sustain a Healthy Life Balance It is possible to maintain an optimal balance in your life by making conscious and positive choices to support your well-being. That means you're becoming actively engaged in the thoughts you think about concerning your mind's state of mind instead of being reactive, or waiting until you experience some trigger event, and then you need to change your thinking. What you don't want is to find yourself with health issues and then decide that you should have or should have paid attention to what you were doing or what you were thinking. Or your career has become so demandingthat you have ignored other important areas of life and now a breaking point has been reached. There are many other trigger circumstances, like those that are personal in your life, and involving your family or people closest to you. It is possible to begin developing a positive point of focus with any or all of these options. Choice #1: Choose to pay close attention to the patterns of your thoughts. It's easy to let an entire day to pass and not think about what or how you're thinking. Then more and more time is passed, until you're trapped in a mental rut controlled by one (or some) predominant negative thoughts. The longer you let those patterns of thought to go on longer, the more likely it is that those thoughts will eventually become part of your belief system, and this will make it much more challenging to make changes. You may not understand or even realize what your dominant thoughts are If so then take the time to review your thoughts with you at the conclusion of each day to figure out what you thought most about. Was it positive or related? This can help you self-correct when needed or at the very least, begin to make changes to your self-talk. Choice 2: Choose to pay particular attention to the phrases you use about yourself. The words you choose to use can also reveal your state of mind and wellbeing, and can help to establish the conditions for your balance in life. Consider a person who constantly says things that make them feel bad regarding themselves, especially associated with their appearance or inability to finish an assignment. While this may be done in humor or as a humorous gag, the greater the frequency frequently it is said, the more it is an indication of how the person truly is about themselves. The language, even when it is used in a self-deprecating manner it can still be detrimental to the overall mental well-being of the individual. A healthier mental attitude and approach to daily life is to be aware of areas of growth and ask for guidance, assistance, and tips for improvement. Also, a positive mindset seeks knowledge and a better self, not to demean one's self. Choice #3: Choose your work in accordance with a sense of satisfaction and meaning. That's an important lesson I've learnt over time and want to share it to anyone who wishes to know it as well. I am aware of the those who have just to "pay the bills" and "make ends meet", yet there's a sense of satisfaction from any job, regardless of the motive behind you working. It's all in the attitude that you have chosen to do your job and the mental attitude you take when you are working as you accomplish the task given. I don't believe anyone does an occupation and is superior over or lower than everyone else. Everyone has the ability to shine and realize their best potential in whatever job you choose. The thing that makes a job special is the individual and their mindset. My students know this to be true because of their interactions with me. It doesn't matter if I am ever recognized by my boss for the work I've accomplished. The most important thing is that I find meaning through my interactions with students. If I can observe the progress of development and progress, then I have found fulfillment. This is how I hope to set your mind in positive perspectives. Option 4: Choose to prioritize what matters in your life. Although the traditional notion of work and life balance dictates a certain language about the amount of time that should be devoted to your career and family, I think that this is a decision for each person. It is always your choice to pick what matters most to you. There are going to instances where you are going to have take a look at your options and decide on a based on your personal preferences. This is understandable. Make sure you know your goals well enough to make an informed decision. Your requirements may overlap with the needs of your significant other, spouse or partner together with your family, and if this is the case their health and well-being may also depend upon decisions you make. This is why prioritizing your needs becomes an essential step, and one to keep from a wholesome view. Choice 5: Choose to make your health and wellbeing something that is worthy of your attention. When I've written about a healthy life balance and healthy lifestyle, it's crucial to your health. Again, I believe this is something that is personal to you, in regards to how your health is maintained. I am not a believer in dictating guidelines on what should or shouldn't be done, with regards to eating and exercising, since this isn't my specialization. However, what I can tell clients is that it could be a deliberate decision you make to consider getting healthy in some ways. What I can share is that the small changes that you make today can add up in the long-term. For example, I decided to change my eating habits and in roughly one and half years I lost almost 90 pounds. It wasn't due to exercise, because of other health issues, it was an outcome of choices made. How you sustain the balance of health is dependent on you, make it a conscious decision and you may be able to avoid some more serious issues later on in life, particularly if you have made routine visits to the doctor a regular part of your plan for balancing life. Whatever you choose to do, you should keep your mind on it and be proactive. Your Mindset, Your Results Your choices have a direct impact on your balance in life. If you make choices that lead to a healthy lifestyle balance, you are most likely to be feeling confident about your self, which should always be your goal. It is always possible to have 2 options in terms of the kinds of thoughts you are able to focus upon at any point in time, and they are positive or negative. If you're proactive about your choices of what you think about, and the way you address circumstances, then you are able to stay at a healthy or positive state of mind. If you do this for over time, you'll be able to establish a positive mindset. If your day does not begin the way you'd like or follow through with your plan, or you find yourself experiencing challenges that you've never experienced, there's always one step you can always take to change your perspective. It's not just about giving general statements, but rather about shifting your mindset towards positivity and an attitude that is more positive. There is always the ability to select and focus on an improved thought and to focus your attention on things that are affirming on the inside to improve your health. Although you may not be looking for a balanced and balanced life in the moment, the more proactive you are in maintaining your mental state and attitude, the less likely you'll have to be reactive later when triggering events occur. When you make the right choices, a strong mindset will lead to an optimal balance in your life.
